What We All Need to Do

With so much information bombarding us everyday, especially about investing, it’s easy to lose sight of the really important stuff. Our host Rob West talks with investing expert Mark Biller to sort that out.

• The markets, have been in turmoil because of the fast-moving COVID-19 pandemic. After setting a new record on February 19, it took just 16 trading sessions for the S&P 500 to enter bear market territory, the fastest in history.
• 2 Timothy 1:7 teaches, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of love and of power and of a sound mind.”
• 1 John 3:1 says, “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!”
• God’s Word teaches us to be patient and to take the long-view. Proverbs 21:5 reads, “Steady plodding brings prosperity; hasty speculation brings poverty.”
• God has a purpose for every trial we experience, using it to mold our character and draw us closer to Him.
• One of the great lessons from market history, which we discuss in an article this month called, The Enduring Optimism of an Investor, is that scary, market-moving events happen pretty regularly — yet through them all, we know the market has continued its “constant jagged climb” higher.
