There’s a separation that comes with stepping out of the crowd, but we must remember God is with us—we are never alone nor abandoned. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson highlights several people in the Bible who chose to follow God through adversity including Paul, Nehemiah, and Esther. When Jesus becomes Lord of our lives, our plans, priorities, and ambitions look different than the rest of the world’s. Instead of trying to silence our faith to fit in with our culture, it’s time to embrace being distinctive, build godly habits, demonstrate perseverance, and cultivate the will to endure. Separating ourselves from the crowd may feel uncomfortable, but the rewards and privileges that come from choosing to honor the Lord are far greater than any risk.
