Our marching orders can be summarized into this simple statement: Honor the Lord. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses the blessings that come from honoring God and the trouble we invite when we disregard or diminish Him. The Bible offers many examples of God’s people provoking His anger and the terrifying events that come with His wrath. Honoring God in all our ways—at home, at work, at school, with our children, and in our communities—is the best choice we can make. As we honor God, we invite His presence and blessings into our lives.

It’s helpful to examine the people in the Easter story because God is still calling a people to Himself—a people who will believe in Him and acknowledge the truth about Jesus of Nazareth. The resurrection is just one example of God moving in the earth with “a mighty hand and an outstretched arm.” In times of shaking, God intervenes for His people with His power and might. Our generation desperately needs expressions of the power of God, and that recognition, desire, and expectation begins in the hearts of His people—you and me.
