Let's Follow Jesus - Part 2

Scripture continually invites us to put our faith into action. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson encourages us to intentionally follow Jesus, laying down our lives and taking up our crosses daily. There are many things we can do to gain strength as we do this—reading our Bibles, worshipping, praying, and gathering with other Christ-followers. Pastor Allen discusses several passages in Hebrews, encouraging us to cooperate with God, be advocates for His Truth, and embrace being “Jesus people” instead of diminishing His role in our lives. Actively doing these things will change our hearts and produce outcomes that far exceed anything we could accomplish from our own strength or abilities.

Angels, Demons and You - Can You See?

What orients our lives? A political party, our careers, our families? What about our faith? In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses the sacrifices that come with following Jesus and the courage we must cultivate to take our faith into public arenas. We see in the Gospel of John that following Jesus causes division, and Pastor Allen offers a biblical approach to handling conflict in our communities and nation. The fear of rejection and fear of pushback from authorities is not new to the twenty-first century, but neither is the boldness found from trusting in Jesus’ saving grace.

In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses the growing pressures Christians will face between now and Jesus’ return. He reminds us we shouldn’t be surprised by opposition and offers examples from Jesus’ and Peter’s lives to show how they chose to stand firm in the Truth, pleasing God and following Him instead of conforming to the culture.
