The Word of God is able to melt the toughest hearts and reach the most unlikely people. Even savage headhunters don’t stand a chance. It’s because the Word of God is the power to salvation. But in order for people to believe in God, someone needs to tell. Those who follow Christ are called to tell others about the Good News.
Sometimes knowing in advance that we will fail is actually quite encouraging. That’s the case in Romans where Paul acknowledges that not everyone he has shared the gospel with has followed Christ. How is this encouraging for us as we witness to those around us?
Nations rise and fall, all at the hand of the Almighty God. But why would God cause the death of a nation? How can a nation have a spiritual life, and what does this look like? As we celebrate the 4th of July, let’s remember that we are still dependent on God and His mercy.
Beautiful people: we all know who they are. Perfect hair, perfect clothes, perfect job. The rest of us spend a great part of our lives trying to be like them. But God calls us to be beautiful people, too. He calls beautiful those who take the good news of salvation to those who don’t know it.
