What is blasphemy, and if you blaspheme the Holy Spirit are you not also blaspheming the Father and the Son since they are one God? 3. I was shocked. I know he is misusing scripture for his purpose, maybe something is wrong with him. I simply said that if you beat your wife you are not a man or a Christian. What do you say to such a “man”? 4. My friend’s husband is verbally and mentally abusive. I think the Bible speaks of adultery as being the only grounds for divorce so how can I help her? She has spoken with our pastor and he told her “remember your vows” and I do understand that, but I feel it’s abuse even if it isn’t physical and I’m worried for her. 5. How does the Bible define “election”?
