Kansas State Senator Mike Thompson

Senator Mike Thompson, known throughout the Midwest for his many years as a television meteorologist, has been serving as a Kansas senator in the 10th district since 2020. The main topic of discussion in this Special Encounter are attempts by those who want to legalize “medicinal marijuana,” always a gateway to full legalization of recreational marijuana. Senator Thompson talks about the many dangers of going down this path and listeners will learn what they can do to prevent such bills from passing in Kansas. Eben Fowler also talks with Senator Thompson about the upcoming April 29, 2024 veto session, where the legislature will have an opportunity to override Governor Kelly’s veto of a bill that would protect those under 18 from having mutilating “gender affirming” surgical procedures inflicted upon them and also would prohibit the prescription of hormone replacement drugs for minors.
