Cynthia Tobias identifies the main reason why education is failing – it’s a one-size-fits all model, whereas each student is wired differently so each curriculum should be tailored to the child’s giftedness. In this interview, Cynthia shares practical advice on how to best maximize your student’s environment, attitude, time-management, learning style, organizational skills, and mental capacity. Parents can often face the teen years with fear because we often don’t fully know or understand what struggles our teens are facing and we know the consequences of their decisions and behaviors can be devastating. Jodie Berndt experienced all of these same challenges with her teens and has identified many scriptures that parents can pray over their teens regarding specific issues like friendships, peer pressure, dating, sex, temptation, social media, prodigals, etc. She addresses how to navigate conflict with your teen and how to trust God for your teen’s future instead of trying to put the burden of their success on yourself. Jodie also describes her own struggles with friendships when she was a teenager, and why parents must avoid turning fears and worries about your teen into an idol – where you focus more on what-if outcomes rather than trust God.
