Parents Bill of Rights Act Parents have the right to: 1. Receive timely and appropriate information about their child’s academic progress. 2. Participate in decisions about their child’s education. 3. Receive information about school activities and curriculum. 4. Request and receive assistance from school personnel. 5. Request and receive assistance from other parents. 6. Request and receive assistance from community organizations. 7. Request and receive assistance from state and federal agencies. 8. Request and receive assistance from the courts. 9. Request and receive assistance from the media. 10. Request and receive assistance from other sources. Parents have the responsibility to: 1. Support their child’s education. 2. Participate in decisions about their child’s education. 3. Monitor their child’s academic progress. 4. Communicate with school personnel. 5. Participate in school activities. 6. Participate in school-sponsored activities. 7. Participate in community activities. 8. Participate in state and federal activities.
