Ephie Johnson, president and CEO of the Neighborhood Christian Center stops by to talk about Faith & Family Night at the Memphis Grizzlies vs. Toronto Raptors Sunday Feb 5th at FedEx Forum. Ephie will be leading a diverse collective of musicians that she’s organized as Bluff City Praise. The postgame event includes a faith-based Q&A with Grizzlies forward Jake LaRavia. Ephie’s mom, Dr. JoeAnn Ballard and her dad, Monroe, co-founded the Neighborhood Christian Center in 1978, as they worked as schoolteachers observing the poverty conditions facing many of the students entering their classrooms. The Neighborhood Christian Center’s services include tutoring, college assistance, adult education, job training, legal and financial counseling, clothing closets and food distribution.
