Dog Gone, It Hurts // November 21, 2024

Dr. Hal Kitchings discusses his latest book, “Dog Gone, It Hurts”. A life-long dog lover, Hal knows how difficult it is to grieve over a beloved pooch. Dog-Gone, It Hurts is a thirty-day devotional that mixes relevant scripture with gentle encouragement and includes the wisdom of thinkers, pastors, and celebrities like C.S. Lewis, Dr. Billy Graham, and Tim Tebow. Dog-Gone It Hurts will provide support for anyone who has lost any pet (not just dog lovers). Hal also shares about his sister, Kathy’s passing from Covid, impacted his perspective on grief, and how it translates into the book's message. He recalls how a childhood dog named, JAB-O helped to prepare him for future grief, grief associated with the untimely deaths of several close friends, and some dear family members. Dr. Kitchings currently serves as pastor of Easthaven Baptist Church in Brookhaven, MS
