Bowls of judgment were used in ancient times to determine the fate of a person. The bowls were filled with water and the person would be asked to dip their hand into the bowl. If their hand came out dry, they were deemed innocent. If their hand came out wet, they were deemed guilty. This form of judgment was used in many cultures and is still used today in some parts of the world.
