Episode 16 - John 4:1-42 Jesus had to go through Samaria on his way to Galilee. He came to a town called Sychar, near the land Jacob had given to his son Joseph. Jacob's well was there, and Jesus, tired from the journey, sat down by the well. It was about noon. A Samaritan woman came to draw water, and Jesus said to her, "Give me a drink." The Samaritan woman was surprised, because Jews usually do not associate with Samaritans. She said to him, "How is it that you, a Jew, ask me, a Samaritan woman, for a drink?" Jesus answered her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you, 'Give me a drink,' you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water." The woman said to him, "Sir, you have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where do you get that living water? Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, as did his sons and his livestock?" Jesus said to her, "Everyone who drinks
