Acts 1:1-8 What is the Christian’s primary motivation for witnessing? Thinking of ourselves, or even of our unbelieving neighbor, is insufficient. Only a passion for God’s glory faithfully propels our witness. This desire gives us the responsibility and capability to be fishers of men. Yet this sort of fishing isn’t just a pleasant hobby for rare occasions, explains Alistair Begg. It is a daily calling with great demands—and eternal rewards!

Acts 1:1-26, Luke 24:44 The end of Jesus’ physical time on earth was not primarily marked by His distress in the garden or His brutal crucifixion on the cross, nor is it represented simply by His resurrected body. Rather, as Alistair Begg emphasizes, we currently live with an ascended Lord. Jesus’ earthly exit is one of the most defining moments in Scripture and for our lives. It isn’t the end, though! Jesus will return one day as a reigning King.

Luke 24:1-53 Luke 24 recounts the story of two disciples whose first Easter Sunday was not initially marked by joy, but disappointment. The death of Jesus shattered their expectations of a Messiah and left them without hope. Alistair Begg teaches that just as Jesus revealed Himself to the disciples on the road to Emmaus, He reveals himself to us by giving life and hope to those who trust in Him.
