He Holds Me Forever - Held Tightly by His Promises, Part 1

Do you feel defined by your mistakes? No matter what you’ve gone through, what you see as a damaged or tattered life, God sees every one of His children as a masterpiece, displaying His glory. If you’re struggling to believe that’s true, join Theresa Ingram, as she shares her story and why we can hold on to God’s promises. Main PointsLearning how to experience God's love by "opening the window of our soul"Closed window: Sin in my life and disobedience to God’s Word keeps me from experiencing God’s love. Open window: I will live righteously because God’s love is perfected in lives that are pure. Steps to take: Make confession a part of your daily life; keep short accounts. Spend time in God’s Word on a regular basis (5-7 days per week). Closed window: A believer’s learned way of thinking about themselves (self-talk) can keep them from experiencing God’s love. Open window: I will fill my mind with God’s truth to overcome the negative beliefs I have learned. I will cling to His promises for my life.  Steps to take: Evaluate your own thinking patters against Philippians 4: 8. Does your self-talk align with God’s truth about you? Begin the process of replacing those lies with God’s truth (fix your mind on what is true and honorable and right). Closed window: A believer who is building the foundation of their life on worldly, temporal things instead of on God’s foundation and eternal things will have a hard time experiencing God’s love. Open Window: I will surrender my life (all that I am and all that I have) to my Father in Heaven (the only One who is able and willing to give me all things to enjoy). Steps to take: Build the foundation of your life on God’s Word. Seek His will in everything you do. Choose by faith to surrender (sign over) every part of your life to God each day. Closed window: A believer who listens to Satan’s lies and accusations about God’s Word and God’s character will miss the signs of God’s love. Open window: I will pray specifically against the accusations of Satan and refuse to believe his lies. I will ask God to increase my knowledge and awareness of His love for me. Steps to take: Stand firm against Satan’s lies! For every doubt, pray a prayer!Broadcast ResourceDownload Free MP3 Message Notes Additional Resource MentionsPrayer Journal - GreyPrayer Journal - Brown About Theresa IngramTheresa Ingram has a passion to see women transformed as they learn to see themselves as Christ sees them. Tribute to a Praying Mom

Fern Nichols is an author, former elementary school teacher, and the founder of Moms in Prayer International, a prayer movement that mobilizes women around the world to gather together to pray for their children and the schools they attend. In 1984, Fern was fearful about sending her two eldest children off to junior high. She knew the school would be a battlefield for their hearts and minds. She realized the warfare would be intense and to fight this battle, she needed to invite other mothers to pray. She called one mom and asked her to pray with her for their children and school. Her response was an immediate yes, and that was the humble beginning of Moms in Prayer that now spans the U. S. in every state, and is in more than 140 countries. Fern and her husband, Rle, have four grown children and ten grandchildren. Ty Nichols is Fern and Rle's oldest son, and has worked closely with his mom's ministry as a public speaker for many years. He resides in California with his family.
