We aren’t the first generation to wonder if we are approaching the End of the Age, and we don’t need to be afraid—there are good things ahead. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson offers two perspectives: either Jesus will return soon, or the Church is being awakened and prepared for our next assignment. In either case, we have a responsibility to be Jesus’ advocates on the earth, standing boldly for Him and His Truth. We cannot afford to have an escapist mentality. The Bible says we will not know the exact time or date of Jesus’ return, so our goal isn’t to try to predict the future, but to be fully engaged in doing His work, everywhere we go, no matter what.
How often do we need to hear the Truth before we choose to follow it? In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson encourages us to strengthen the foundations of our faith by hearing God’s Word and putting it into practice. Ultimately, the foundation of our lives and our faith is Jesus, and the more clearly we realize that, the more stable our lives become. A firm foundation will carry us through any challenge, and we need to be intentional in building and maintaining it.
We will not succeed in accomplishing the purposes of God in this generation unless we live with a view of eternity and a heightened awareness of spiritual things. This is our time, Pastor Allen teaches, and we are to be God’s standard-bearers in every place He invites us, wielding the authority that is ours through the shed blood of Jesus.
God has made abundant provision for us to be victorious, and He does not intend for us to lead our lives afraid. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses the spiritual warfare taking place on the earth, and the role angels play in the battle—they are on our side! He examines passages from the New Testament to show the types of angels God created and the unique purposes assigned to them. As evil increases in the earth, so does God’s movement. Instead of focusing on the darkness, it’s time to turn our attention to what God is doing in the earth and the help He extends to us—including His angels.
Our behaviors demonstrate our faith in God (or the lack thereof). In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses the spiritual conflict taking place around us and encourages us to fight the battle by first examining our own hearts. Where are we following our own ways instead of yielding to God and His truth? Actions that draw us closer to God include practicing humility, praying and meditating on God’s Word, and asking for the Holy Spirit’s help in rooting out anything that separates us from God’s best for our lives. Pastor Allen walks us through several steps and prayers that can help us find true freedom in Christ.
