Two Ships - Part 2 of 2
“But the Lord sent out a great wind into the sea, and there was a mighty tempest in the sea, so that the ship was like to be broken” (Jonah 1:4). “And straightway Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away” (Matthew 14:22). On one ship was the prophet, Jonah. He was disobedient, trying to run from the Lord. He encountered a great storm, and it was only by the grace of God his life was spared. On the other ship were the disciples. They were obedient having followed Jesus’ direction to board the ship. This ship also encountered a storm, but deliverance came when Jesus boarded the ship. So we see we may face a storm in our life because of disobedience but it is also possible to go through a storm even when serving the Lord obediently.
