Gentle Persuasion (Part 2)

There is nothing more destructive than the tongue. In this episode of Moment of Truth, Pastor Matt continues his study of Titus 3 and the importance of gentle persuasion. We must guard our tongue and refuse to spread gossip and slander. If we are to live the good life that leads others to Christ, we cannot resort to quarreling and fighting. While we cannot conform to this world, we must learn to share the truth of Christ in love.

House or Home - Parenting Edition - Finding Hope for Single Parent and Blended Families, Part 1

Is there hope for single parents and blended families to experience true joy and peace - to find rest and strength in the midst of the journey? In this session, Chip is joined by his wife Theresa to share her story of single parenthood and how God carried her through that difficult time in her life. Whether you’re a single parent, a blended family, or just someone looking for a little encouragement, you’ll want to listen to this hope-filled message. Main PointsA story of hope and restoration - Ruth 1-4Single parenting - principles and practiceMake your relationship with Christ your #1 priority. Get connected with a strong, godly, same sex group for support and accountability. Accept this "season" of your life and set realistic expectations. Remember God can "make-up" for what you can't give your kids. Refuse to become a victim, a martyr, or a super parent. Don't compromise your spiritual and moral standards to "provide a father/mother" for your children. Blended families - principles and practiceCount the cost thoroughly. Get pre-marital counseling from a mutually trusted, biblical, and wise resource. Make your mate your new, unequivocal #1 relationship ahead of children. Develop a weekly communication tool and mechanism to wrestle family conflicts, schedules, and miscommunication to the ground in a nonthreateneing and safe environment. Make the spiritual development of your marriage and family the utmost priority; only God and supernatural love can make this work - you don't have that apart from vital union with Christ in the context of a strong, loving, biblical community. Remember it will take time, it will be harder than you thought, and it can be a glorious testimony of God's restoration and redemption - so don't quit, don't withdraw, don't bail out, and know that God will bring results. - James 1: 2-4; Hebrews 10: 36Broadcast ResourceDownload Free MP3 Message Notes Additional Resource MentionsFree Parenting Resources About Chip IngramChip Ingram’s passion is helping Christians really live like Christians. Releasing Demons from the Abyss, Part 2

In a frightening vision, the apostle John sees hell itself unleashed upon the earth in a locust-like swarm of demonic activity, carrying out the devastating consequences of sin’s rule. Pastor Chuck Swindoll illuminates Revelation 9: 112, providing important points about demons: they are real and committed to our destruction, but they have limitations, and they must bow to our sovereign Lord, Jesus Christ. Don’t underestimate our enemy, but don’t overestimate him either. Understand God’s ultimate rule even amid the darkness.
