Clarify Your Identity - Authority in The Heavens - Part 1

Through the Holy Spirit’s power, Jesus was raised from a tomb and was seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty, Lord of all. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson explains the significance of who we are in Christ and the power and authority available to us as His disciples. Through our faith in Christ, we become the seed of Abraham and an heir to God’s promises to the Jewish people. Through Christ, we have access to God’s throne. The same spiritual power that raised Jesus from the dead will work on our behalf today as we move forward in God’s purposes. Let’s identify ourselves with Jesus and use the authority He has given us to take His truth, hope, and healing into our culture.

Do Not Be Deceived

We are walking through a time of dramatic deception, and we need to know how to recognize it because we are all vulnerable. Pastor Allen Jackson names three key coordinates we can use to discern whether something is true or false: If it aligns with Jesus, the Word of God, and the Holy Spirit, it’s truth! He talks about the fallacies of liberation theology, new age philosophies, false prophecy, the use of occult practices like seances and Ouiji boards to predict the future, and other destructive movements that are prevalent in today’s culture. God’s Truth is the anecdote to deception, and with Jesus, we can not only be delivered from it, but be redeemed!

God is For Us

Do we have room to imagine the Lord is with us, even when our circumstances are less than ideal? In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson shows how God’s presence dwelled with people who earnestly sought after Him, including Abraham, Joseph, Joshua, Gideon, Samuel, David, Hezekiah, Mary, and Jesus. Just as the Lord's presence resided with these Bible heroes, even amongst extreme hardships, He promises to be with us today. He will guide, protect, and dwell with us, as we earnestly seek Him and submit to His plans for our lives.

Let’s Pray and Remember

Thank You for this holiday weekend and for the opportunity to remember those who laid down their lives for our nation. Thank You for their bravery and for their willingness to serve on our behalf. We lift up the families who watched their loved ones to go into harm’s way—Lord, bless them today and give them Your peace. Help us to be more aware of their sacrifices, and let that awareness give us new courage to take our places and stand for the truth today.
