In 1967 Calvary Rescue Mission opened its doors to homeless men in Memphis, the Executive Director Bob Freudiger discusses restoring homeless men through Calvary’s discipleship ministry, feeding 400 neighbors for Thanksgiving, and the need for toys for their annual Children’s Christmas Celebration. The late Milton Hatcher founded the mission after a life of alcohol addiction that ended once Milton encountered a relationship with Jesus Christ. Milton would drive an old hearse and pick up drunks to share his salvation story. They say the hearse had a sobering effect on the men. Milton was very successful in seeing many men surrender to Christ.
